Public-Private Collaborative Call for Translational Research and the Implementation of Predictive, Digital, and Multidisciplinary Models for Cardiovascular Diseases, NCDs, and Precision Medicine.
FRRB intends to fund projects that can be considered translational research with observational and/or interventional clinical research components, aimed at developing, validating, and testing innovative approaches for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the diseases covered by the call.
The projects should contribute to:
improving the early identification of individuals at risk of disease;
developing and evaluating prevention strategies and patient-targeted clinical interventions;
supporting risk stratification and the adoption of personalized medicine approaches;
improving the effectiveness of diagnosis, treatment, and patient care pathways within the National Health Service (SSR).
The expected results should provide preliminary evidence and application models that are potentially scalable within the regional healthcare system and form the basis for subsequent larger-scale clinical studies, contributing to strengthening Lombardy as a leading ecosystem for biomedical research and precision medicine.
The thematic areas identified by the Call are:
Precision and Molecular Medicine: AI for the analysis of clinical and genomic data to predict the onset of diseases, support early screening, and guide personalized preventive interventions;
Cardiovascular Diseases: implementation of innovative and impactful measures on the National Health Service (SSR) for the primary and secondary prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases;
Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): implementation of innovative and impactful measures on the National Health Service (SSR) for the diagnosis and treatment of NCDs, including through the use of health data and digital technologies.
The collaborative Call is open to researchers wishing to develop a research project in partnership with the following entities of the Regional Health System (ASST, IRCCS, ATS, Universities, Research Organizations, or AREU) located in Lombardy.
Maximum grant: €3,000,000.00 per project, for a duration of 24 months.
