FRRB is pleased to announce the release of the new EP Tranforming Health and Care Systems Joint Transnational Call (JTC 2026) aiming to fund research and innovation projects that strengthen primary and community health and care systems and provide policy and decision makers with the necessary knowledge and tools to govern the transitions needed in the primary and community care sector. 

Proposals are expected to: 

• build on existing evidence to deliver innovative solutions that enable key stakeholders to reduce inequalities in access to and utilisation of health and care services; 

• develop measures that compensate for disparities in access to health and care due to one or more of socio-economic status, geographic location, racial, cultural, or gender identity, literacy and language barriers also through the pre-identification of such inequalities; 

• leverage the existing evidence and proposed solutions to underserved areas to demonstrate or pilot how these solutions can be implemented, scaled up and shared 

• investigate how access interacts with patient usage patterns that may contribute to unequal utilisation of health and care services and propose solutions that contribute to reducing under- and overutilisation of health and care services

FRRB joins the Call as a funding agency: Regional Health Service bodies (ASSTs, public and private IRCCSs, AREUs and ATSs), universities and research centres based in Lombardy will have the opportunity to submit a project proposal and obtain funding for their activities from the Regional Foundation for Biomedical Research. 

For this Call FRRB has allocated a total budget of Euro 500.000,00.  

Pre-eligibility 

In order to obtain funding from FRRB, Lombardy-based entities must complete a pre-eligibility form, which can be downloaded from this page, in the “documents to download” section.

Pre-eligibility forms must be submitted via the new FRRB Call for Proposals Platform (https://bandi.frrb.it/login), available from December 9, 2025.

FRRB also provides candidates with a template for drawing up their budget (“Budget tool”). The budget tool is intended as a support tool for internal use by candidates and is not an official document of the 2026 call.
