EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR FUNDING COLLABORATIVE CLINICAL AND TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECTS AIMED AT PUBLIC OSH INSTITUTIONS
FRRB intends to fund projects that take the form of multidimensional interventions aimed at developing and validating innovative clinical-organizational models in which Artificial Intelligence is the enabling engine for process optimization and improved care pathways. The design must transcend the technological component, enabling a structured redesign of operational flows and Diagnostic-Therapeutic-Care Pathways (DTCs), ensuring full integration between scientific evidence—through real-world data analysis and multicenter validation—and organizational sustainability.
Strategic alignment with the Lombardy Regional Health System will be mandatory, ensuring the scalability of solutions, interoperability with regional digital infrastructures and a measurable impact in terms of clinical appropriateness, management efficiency and quality of care provided.
The thematic area identified by the Public NOTICE is: “Technological Innovation and Medicine: Development and validation of innovative clinical-organizational models based on Artificial Intelligence for the dynamic optimization of care pathways in the healthcare system.”
The chronic diseases with a high epidemiological and organizational impact of interest are:
- Diabetes;
- Obesity;
- Neurological and Neurodegenerative Diseases;
- Conditions of frailty and multimorbidity.
For the sake of completeness, please note that only one of the aforementioned conditions may be selected.
The call is open only to public entities within the Regional Health System (ASST, public IRCCS, ATS, and AREU) based in Lombardy, which must form a partnership.
Maximum grant: €5,000,000.00 per project, for a duration of 24 months.
All information on participation requirements can be found in the public NOTICE and the accompanying documents in the “Documents to Download” section.
Project proposals may be submitted through the FRRB Calls Platform.
