In accordance with the guidelines of the Lombardy Region (set out, among other things, in the National Health Research Program (PNRS) 2024-2026) regarding scientific production and patient needs, stimulating the establishment of partnerships between Regional Health System institutions, universities, and research centers in Lombardy to strengthen inter-institutional collaboration, with its new call for collaborative research, aimed at researchers under 40, FRRB aims to identify and reward innovative project initiatives that allow for the simultaneous promotion of the independent careers of young researchers in order to consolidate their careers and/or their projects. The projects must highlight the possibility of providing results that can in turn be reused as a basis for more complex projects, with translational potential for rapid impact and transfer to the Regional Health System, always taking into account the ethical and social implications.
The thematic areas identified by the call for proposals are:
a) Diagnostic and therapeutic innovations in pediatrics
b) Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
c) ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE
d) ONCOLOGY
The recipients of the grant are partnerships composed of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 entities chosen from among ASSTs, Health Protection Agencies (ATS), Regional Emergency Services (AREU), public and private IRCCS, universities, and research organizations, all with operational headquarters in Lombardy.
The role of lead entity may be assumed by an ASST, an ATS, or a public or private IRCCS.
Maximum grant amount: €500,000.00 per individual project lasting 24 months. Each participant must cover at least 15% of the total project costs.

Project proposals may be submitted via the new FRRB Call for Proposals Platform, which can be accessed from the ENTITIES AND RESEARCHERS AREA of the FRRB website.
Through Decree DG No. 217_2025, we hereby announce the final approval of the ranking list containing the projects that have been accepted and rejected for funding.
