Chemo-immunotherapy is a promising cancer treatment, but it can damage the heart due to excessive immune activation. IL-1R8 is a molecule that controls inflammation. Removing IL-1R8 in mice improved the effect of chemotherapy on tumors and reduced heart damage. This project will study how IL-1R8 shapes immune responses and protects the heart, making cancer treatments safer and more effective.
